Super Bowl champions are in a desperate need of a starting quarter-back. And who could be more fit for the position than Tim Tebow? Well, the fans thought so, too. So much so, they have already started a petition to bring Tebow back to Denver.
As per the ESPN reports, “Former Denver signal-caller” Tim Tebow’s call for comeback was “bound to happen”. Fans in the Mile High City have already formulated a petition to bring Tebow back which was started on change.org. The online petition which surfaced just two months ago “before Peyton Manning’s official retirement”, had just “3,500 supporters as of early afternoon.”
The source further stated that Tebow was “pick-up” as an analyst with ESPN on the SEC Network. He didn’t feature in the NFL since 2012 but “was in training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles last season before being cut in September,” quoted the source.
“Coach Gary Kubiak’s offense would thrive with Tebow under center,” the petition read. “He and the legendary John Elway can make this happen. We don’t (sic) need a subpar throwaway from some other team, we need an original Bronco who has the fire, desire, and love of the game to play as a Bronco again! As a bonus, the Bronco fans would be ecstatic! He just wins, we all know this! #TebowTime”.
Yahoo termed the event as the “Greatest petition ever” to bring the 28-year-old back to NFL. The fan who started it, Will Garner, wrote, “The Denver Broncos have lost their two main quarterbacks from their epic 2016 Super Bowl Championship winning season. We need a proven winner to continue to move this team in the right direction.”
The fan also stated that once the petition got more than 5000 signatures, he would personally deliver the petition to Broncos’ general manager John Elway, head coach Gary Kubiak, team vice president of public relations Patrick Smyth, and ESPN.
