There is a thin line between sensual and vulgar, erotica and repulsive. It seems like Calvin Klein’s creative team just couldn’t see it. The brand is facing the heat from internet users who hate the new Calvin Klein campaign and they think it is repulsive and misogynistic.

Calvin Klein released a set of raunchy images as a part of their new ‘Erotica’ campaign. The images follow the brand’s trend of pushing the envelope with everything sensual. However, internet users are enraged. The campaign is being dubbed everything negative from inappropriate, trashy, porn to even paedophile fodder.

ANN had reported that the campaign even features Kendall Jenner, who is seen posing with a grapefruit and later a tulip. Jenner’s image sees her squeezing the fruit; a double entendre of sorts for the obvious. Other models such as Abbey Lee Kershaw and Klara Kristen are also seen in risqué poses shot by Tyrone Lebon.

However, it is actress Klara Kristen’s upskirt shot that has pushed the alarm button of internet users. The photo’s tagline reads, “I flash in #mycalvins.” Daily Mail reveals that the photo has been dubbed “creepy, sexist and fodder for paedophiles” by many Instagram users.

Danish actress Kristen, who is 22 years old, looks even younger in the ad. Many users feel that she looks like a pre-teen. As a result, they feel that her polka dot undies ad is more of a picture for paedophiles. One user opined that the ad was misogynistic rubbish bordering on paedophilia. “Some disturbed old guy’s wet dream,” said the user.

News.com.au states that one of the users have made their dislike very clear. “I don’t like it. Please delete this photo, this girl looks like 14 years old,” said the user. Calvin Klein has done a number of campaigns with other superstars such as Justin Bieber, Mark Wahlberg, and Kate Moss. However, it is this post that has caused the most uproar. The brand might even lose many of its more than four million followers.

Calvin Klein has not commented on the backlash so far.
