For those who are eagerly awaiting the NCIS Season 14 next episode, sorry but another week will have to pass before you can enjoy the next installment. Episode 9 “Pay to Play” is not scheduled to air until Dec. 6.
CBS has not offered any real explanation for the hiatus. However, fans can look at it as a small holiday break. Last week’s episode served as the Thanksgiving special and this is expected to be the last break before the final stretch into Christmas. Cartermatt predicts that the series will be pushing the winter break fairly close to the yuletide holidays.
According to the episode guide shared by TV.com, Episode 9 will be centered around guest star Mary Stuart Masterson. She plays the role of Congresswoman Jenna Flemming, who finds herself facing “escalating threats.”
In true NCIS fashion, there will surely be several personal storylines that will be touched. In the previous episode, Special Agent Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) got a Thanksgiving visit from her three brothers.
The episode also focused heavily on her new relationship with Qasim Nasir. The new love team will likely be featured more often in the coming episodes now that they have come out in the open.
Meanwhile, fans will be watching Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) very closely. Several NCIS cancellation rumors have been circulating lately and Harmon’s health has been one of the main causes of concern.
While the actor has not actually confirmed having any health issue, several publications have been pointing out that he has been appearing “frail” in recent episodes of the series. After the departure of former mainstay Michael Weatherly at the end of Season 13, Harmon is now the subject of speculations.
Nevertheless, no announcements have been made and for now, Harmon is set to stay. NCIS Season 14 next episode airs next Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
