Huge changes are coming in NCIS Los Angeles Season 8.

The NCIS spin-off will return with a two-hour premiere episode, and some character changes have been teased to greet viewers.

In Season 8, Agents G. Callen (Chris O’Donnell), Sam Hanna (LL Cool J), Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah), Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and the rest of the team will continue their hunt for the mole. Undersecretary of Defense Corbin Duggan (Jackson Hurst) will insist on new leadership after the team failed to find the mole who is leaking classified information. Duggan will take over Hetty (Linda Hunt) and Granger (Miguel Ferrer) until the mole is apprehended.

LL Cool J dropped major clues about the changes in the series. In an interview with E! News, the rapper was asked about the potential hashtags for the latest season. He gave hashtags such as #SomebodyGotToDie, #SomebodyGotToGo, as well as #Changes.

“There’s a mole in the house. There are some character changes. Some characters get eliminated. It’s going to be not business as usual,” the rapper told

In Episode 2 titled Belly of the Beast, the team will travel to Syria to apprehend a high-value target. The life of one member of the team will be in grave danger after the mission goes south. This could also lead to some changes in the show.

The episode 3 synopsis stated that Hetty will be held in D.C. for questioning. Moreover, another member of the team will be in the ICU following the mission in Syria. Who among the agents will get injured? Could it be Kensi? Ruah and husband David Olsen welcomed a baby girl earlier this month. The actress is currently on maternity leave. LL Cool J hinted that the NCIS LA executives did a great job in accommodating Ruah’s pregnancy without removing the character from what is happening in the show.

NCIS Los Angeles Season 8 returns on its new timeslot on Sunday (Sept 25) at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
