NCIS Los Angeles Season 8 will not be airing next Sunday. The series will be taking a two-week break before returning on October 16 with Episode 4 titled “Black Market.” Fans of the series will be waiting to find out if the show’s return will also signal the return of Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Henrietta Lange (Linda Hunt).
The answer in the case of Hetty seems positive. At the end of the last episode titled “The Queen’s Gambit,” Hetty made a deal with the Secretary of Defense. She handed in her resignation and promised to leave her post in 90 days if she is unable to get to the bottom of the security issues inside NCIS Los Angeles.
She asked for her team back and for Undersecretary Corbin Duggan to be kept off her back. There’s every indication that she will be back at the helm very soon. An Episode 4 preview which aired after last Sunday’s episode, also showed a scene with Hetty seemingly back at work. Here’s a copy of the video shared by TVtymes:
Kensi was noticeably absent from the Episode 4 teaser. Things don’t look optimistic for her immediate return with the character still under observation in the hospital. In real life, itechpost reports that actress Daniela Ruah is still on maternity leave. Her lengthy absence in the show could be attributed to showrunners buying more time to accommodate her leave.
The Episode 4 synopsis shared by TV.com also shows every indication that Nell Jones (Renee Felice Smith) will continue to serve as a temporary partner for Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen). She previously took on the post as a temporary field agent in the absence of Kensi.
“After a Homeland Security agent is poisoned by a notorious Triad assassin, NCIS uncovers a warehouse of counterfeit purses and a money trail to stolen government funds. Meanwhile, Nell joins the team in the field,” read the synopsis.
NCIS Los Angeles Season 8, Episode 4 titled “Black Market” will air on Sunday, Oct 16, 2016. The show airs at 8:00 pm ET on CBS.
