The North Carolina Tar Heels are taking on the Villanova Wild Cats in the finals of Men’s Basketball National Championship at the NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas on April 4, Monday.
ESPN senior writer Dana O’Neil writes, “Joel Berry is killing Villanova right now. He’s often lost in the shuffle on this team but Roy Williams has said Berry has been his most consistent player all year.” The North Carolina Heels are leading the second half after gaining an upper hand in the first half. Villanova Wild Cats are not lagging behind. Looks like they are closing the gap already.
The official NCAA website puts out the numbers and they are huge. The madness continues at NRG stadium with tonight’s attendance being the “second-highest in National Championship game history, behind only 2014.” The numbers read 74,340 at NRG.
As per the ABC News reports, tonight’s NCAA championship game is especially personal for the Britt family. The source notes, “That’s because brothers Kris Jenkins and Nate Britt will face off for Villanova and North Carolina, respectively.”
“It’s one of the best feelings I could have ever imagined,” dad Nate Britt Sr. told ABC News today, hours before the big game. “I love basketball so much. And to see my boys out there competing for (the) national championship against one another, I couldn’t think of anything better than that.”
Both Kris and Nate aren’t brothers have lived together since they were both about 11 years old and are not related by blood. Kris was adopted by the Britt family.
Talking about Kris’ mother, Felicia Jenkins, Britt Sr. says, “She understood what my vision was for our kids … trying to get them in college, get their academics strong … she understood I pretty much run a tight ship.
“What mother would give up their child unless they needed some help?”
