Perth Wildcats will host Melbourne United on Thursday, Dec. 10, at Perth Arena in the round 10 of the NBL. Melbourne Star Chris Goulding hopes that history will repeat itself against the Wildcats in Perth.
The last encounter between the two saw “Mark Worthington sink a match-winning three-pointer on the buzzer against the Wildcats,” as per the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
“Not too many teams go over there and beat them at that stadium,” Goulding was quoted as saying. “Everybody knows what sort of organization they are – they run their basketball department really well, they get massive crowds and put on a show, so it’s hard to get a win.
“They showed they are a quality team again – they are sitting second and on a bit of a streak – we know how good a team they are.”
Melbourne showed some offensive form in their last match against Adelaide 36ers 89-86 at Hisense Arena on Sunday.
Melbourne will also see the return of Majok Majok in their clash against the Wildcats. As per the reports, Perth is the home to Melbourne United Centre Majok. He did grew up in Perth after his family moved from south Sudan. He later went on to play for the Melbourne United and became one of their prime rebounders.
Majok will be playing in front of his family for the first time ever since he started his basketball career.
“It will probably be the first time I play a real game over there and it’s the first time my family has come to watch me play live,” Majok said.
“I’m really excited, I might be a little bit nervous, too.
“I’ve played in front of big crowds before but more than anything I’m just happy they are going to be there watching me play our first game in Perth.”
Second-placed Perth Wildcats will bank on their home advantage to topple the top-of-the-ladder Melbourne United.
