The NBA free agency heat is still on and another star making the Internet buzz is Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade. After a cryptic tweet, NBA trade rumors speculated that he was close to a deal with the Cavaliers. However, recent reports suggest that Wade could end up with another team.
Wade has been with the Heat his entire NBA career and after negotiations, he could still end up with them. However, a transfer to another team also became a top choice since many sources described Wade’s relationship with the Heat as close to deteriorating.
In one mysterious tweet, Dwyane expressed how relationships are important. Hence, this prompted many to believe that he plans on joining the Cleveland Cavaliers, where former teammate LeBron James is now with. However, many also suggested that the tweet could mean he’s mulling over his long-time relationship with the Heat.
USA Today relays some of the things that can be the cause of Wade’s frustration. The website says,
“Wade wants to get paid. For years, he has sacrificed financially to accommodate roster building and championship runs. […] The Heat put a premium on retaining Hassan Whiteside, and they chased Kevin Durant in free agency. That might have left Wade wondering where he fit in Miami’s list of priorities after 13 seasons with the franchise, three championships and a 2015-16 season in which he played 74 games and averaged 19 points, 4.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds and shot 45.6% from the field.”
NBA trade points at the Nuggets
Wade has set up meetings with teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets, among others. Consequently, these meetings have since been concluded.
The potential of Wade choosing Nuggets over Heat and the Bucks is high. As per Slam Online, the Nuggets is the only franchise who appears willing to meet Wade’s contractual demands. The report relays sources saying that the Nuggets is prepared with a 2-year $52 million offer.
It remains to be seen how Wade’s meetings with the different teams will fare. Some fans think it’s crazy to see Wade with the Nuggets. But if the offer proves to be true, it’s not entirely impossible for him to sign with Denver.
Stay tuned on how this NBA trade rumor unfolds.
