There is an apparent disconnect between Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. Both the club and player are going through a rough patch for quite a few years now as Rose has been down with too many injuries leaving the Bulls with no one to lead them. Each time Rose tries to make a comeback, he is involved with another injury.
Rose has already made a lot of effort in leading the Bulls to a championship. But things are certainly not merry for both parties. The NBC Sports reports that there have been quite a few hints about the rift. Rose’s injury problems have definitely affected the team chemistry and also some of his teammates like Jimmy Butler.
ESPN’s NBA writer, Brian Windhorst, while appearing on the Russillo & Kanell show on ESPN Radio, states that the relationship between Rose and Bulls is coming to an end. The post gives us a definite idea about the break up.
ESPN quoted Windhorst, “The Derrick Rose breakup with the Bulls has begun. I don’t know how long it’s going to last, I don’t know when it’s going to be complete, but you can sort of see it. The team and the franchise have moved on to a little bit of a certain extent.”
He further exclaims, “And while I am one of the people that will pound the desk and say it’s not Derrick Rose’s fault that he got hurt, same with Kobe. These people who apply this dislike to these guys, it’s not their fault. Maybe Kobe overdid it, it’s not Derrick Rose’s fault that his knee got hurt. But his attitude has been not terrific. The comments that he made about his contract in 2017, you want to talk about being tone deaf?”
The Chicago Sun Times notes that Rose’s contract with the Bulls ends next season which will make him an unrestricted free agent. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet. We shall have to wait for any official confirmation from either side.
