The Utah Jazz past the victory line with 90-71 against the Los Angeles Lakers back on Sunday. Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 28 and Lou Williams led the lakers with 27. Kobe Bryant played for 12 minutes with which he shot 1 for 5 and received a lot of encouragement from the partisan crowd. Utah Jazz will take on the Los Angeles Lakers again in their NBA pre-season match tonight.
According to SB Nation, Bryant did nothing except “shoot with zero rebounds, zero assists, zero steals, zero blocks” during the weekend game. Utah did start the match on the defensive note with a balanced attack gaining momentum in the second half and their performance was simply mesmerising.
With Dante Exum and Grant Jerrett both out with injuries for the upcoming contest against the Lakers, Chris Johnson is expected to join tonight after having missed the first game due to concussion. The Lakers will be missing Marcelo Huertas, Anthony Brownand, Jabari Brown, and D’Angelo Russell due to injuries. Good news is that both Kobe Bryant and Nick Young will be available for the clash.
The reports have also claimed the poor shooting in the previous match with players not used to such game speed and there could be some rust, notes SB Nation. It is also being suspected that Coach Scott is not going to include the best players to “Dig Out” a win.
Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors, and Rudy Gobert will form the effective core for the Jazz and they look good on paper. In the coming match, the Jazz might have an edge over the Lakers.
The Jazz are still favourites as it was evident in the last match. They have to stick to their playing standards and keep their defensive pressure on the Lakers. They created some disruption in the passing lanes and on the ball which made the lakers miss their shots.
