The Golden State Warriors host the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA, on Thursday, March 3, starting 10:30 PM ET.
Thursday night’s encounter is being touted as one of the most highly anticipated matches as the two teams will meet for the third and final regular season match-up. After two straight overtime victories, the Warriors will use the home advantage to edge past the Thunder.
The Warriors have gained an upper hand over the Thunder in the previous two clashes. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook seemed confident to start against the Warriors.
”Man we’re not scared of either one of these teams,” Durant said. ”We’re going to play our game. Nobody in this locker room is scared. We have to play them. If we want to get to where we want to get to, we have to play them. We’re not ducking anybody.”
The Warriors have taken their record to 54-5 after a narrow 109-105 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. The Thunder’s record stands at 42-18.
The Golden State Warriors are just 19-odd games short of making history. Given their recent form, the idea of surpassing the Chicago Bull’s 1995-96 record of 72 wins doesn’t seem distant now. They have already created quite a number of records starting from the “Historic NBA start” to “longest home-win streak”.
