The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 4, starting 10:30 pm ET.
As per the NBA official reports, the Clippers are currently the “best” team in the town. Blake Griffin’s comeback is set to raise the spirits at the Clippers’ camp right before their clash with the Lakers.
The Clippers have already thumped the Lakers nine times before Tuesday night’s clash but Byron Scott hinted a bit of optimism before proceedings start at the Staples Center.
“They’re the better team, there’s no doubt about that right now,” Lakers coach Byron Scott said. “We know that we have to come in tomorrow and we gotta play a great game against a great team, we’ve gotta get Chris Paul in check somehow, we’ve got to keep (DeAndre Jordan) off the boards, we gotta keep them out of their running game.”
According to the Sam Carlos Sports Blog, Clippers coach Doc Rivers was heard talking about his stint with the Celtics against the Lakers.
“Just the 2008 series. Something happened in 2010, I don’t remember what happened there,” said Rivers when asked about those years. “I just remember how hard he was every night. I mean, he was just tough, physically. I thought both of those series, the mental part of Kobe is what stood out.”
Griffin is excited to be part of the Clippers’ side again. After Sunday night’s 114-109 victory over Washington Griffin was quoted as saying, “It was a blast being back out there.”
“My rhythm was pretty bad, conditioning was a little bit better than I thought it would be, but not great.”
