On Tuesday, the NBA “Super Team” Golden State Warriors officially started their training camp with Kevin Durant . The former NBA all-star signed up with team in a  move that was announced on July 7 this year. The first day of training apparently went smoothly.

According to an article shared by NBA, Durant was anxious and eager to get started with his new team. He even woke up extra early at around 7AM, before he hit the freeway traffic. “I wasn’t used to that in Oklahoma City,” he said during his initial practice with the Warriors.

The Warriors were NBA champions two seasons ago. However, in the NBA finals last June, they were disappointed to lose Game 7 to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. After the loss, they went out and signed Durant to a two-year contract said to have an approximate worth of $54.3 million.

Durant was said to be the biggest free agent on the NBA market this  summer. A lot of NBA fans were shocked by his transfer to the Warriors instead of re-signing with his long time NBA team. He had been with the Oklahoma City Thunder for nine years

When the training camp started, Durant was welcomed to the Bay Area with open arms, and he is loving it and comfortable to be in the team. Having Durant in the Warriors line up this season, they are now called the NBA Super Team. Durant’s arrival brings him together with two of the best shooters in the league, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Durant stands 6-foot-9-inches tall and has averaged 28.2 points per game last season. He was also named as the league MVP back in NBA 2013 -14, tallying a career-best and league leading 3.0 points per game.”It went well, better than I thought,” said Kerr, the reigning NBA Coach of the Year.
