2K Sports is bringing some of the best not-so classic teams back for “NBA 2K16”. Gamers will be happy to know they could take control of T-Mac and Yao Ming’s past squads.

In a recent announcement made by 2K Sports via Twitter, the developers confirmed that the 1999-2000 Toronto Raptors team and the 2007-2008 Houston Rockets squad will be making their comeback in the video game. Only two of the reported eight classic teams to join the video game.

The 99-00 Raptors squad was a memorable one for the franchise, aside from reaching the Playoffs, their first in franchise history — but lost to the New York Knicks in the first round — it was also the year Vince Carter won the NBA Slam Dunk contest.

It was also the final year that Tracy McGrady suited up for the Canadian team before transferring to  the Orlando Magic. T-Mac averaged 15.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists during the season, while the sophomore Carter contributed 25.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists to be named an All-Star and NBA Third Team during the season.

For Steph Curry fans, they might also see a glimpse of Steph’s dad, Dell Curry, who played for the Raptors that year — his second to the last season, before retiring.

The 2007-08 Rockets team will also be playable on “NBA 2K16”. The squad ended the regular season with a 55-27 record and was led by Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. The 07-08 Rockets are remembered for their 22 game streak, with both Yao and T-Mac receiving the All-NBA Third Team awards.

According to Design N Trend, the confirmed classic teams that will be featured on “2K16” are:

’07-’08 Houston Rockets

’99-’00 Toronto Raptors

’07-08 Boston Celtics

’00-’01 Los Angeles Lakers

’02-’03 Dallas Mavericks

’99-’00 Portland Trail Blazers

Notably, the 2000-01 Lakers team was the start of the three back-to-back championships of the team led by Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.

“NBA 2K16” will drop in stores on September 29 for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
