Houston Rockets star forward Terrence Jones has been hospitalised following a car accident. The team released a statement earlier on Thursday about the whole incident. They also notified that Jones won’t be part of the team combination at Phoenix. The injuries remained unspecified.
As per the Supersport, “Jones spent Wednesday night at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Centre after the accident, which took place as he was on the way to the airport for the team’s flight to Phoenix for Thursday’s game.”
The announcement did not give much details about the accident or the medical condition of Terrence Jones. One of the things which was heard during the announcement was that the tests were negative. But the team fell short of naming the tests undergone by Jones in the process at the current medical facility.
“He said he was in pain, but doing OK,” Rockets coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “It’s just a matter of how he feels. We’re not going to rush him back. Last night, he said he was in some pain, but he didn’t feel like it was anything serious. It’s just a matter of how long the pain persists.”
The Houston Rockets were to play the Phoenix Suns on Thursday and Jones wasn’t named in the playing list. The Rockets managed to register a narrow 111-105 victory over the Phoenix Suns at the talking Stick Resort Arena. The Rockets have now taken their record to 27-25 in this NBA season while the Phoenix Suns have a 14-37 record.
According to the Chron, the 24-year-old Portland origin star 9.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 45 games this season. The Rockets stand seventh in the Western Conference after their victory on Thursday.
