The Golden State Warriors will host the New Orleans Pelicans at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA, on Monday, March 14, starting 10:30 PM ET.
Just when the Warriors looked a bit vulnerable against the Los Angeles Lakers, they came back to improve their record to 59-6. Such is the current form of the Warriors. Steph Curry has now got the perfect opportunity to celebrate his birthday with the 60th win in this NBA season against the New Orleans Pelicans.
As per the official NBA source, Curry scored 15 of his 35 points in the fourth quarter. The Warriors came back strongly to counter a nine-point deficit in the last 12-minutes. The Oakland side’s 123-116 home victory over the Phoenix was rather challenging, but still managed to continue with their “best start” in the NBA history.
The home side will be looking to seal their 49th win at the Oracle Arena in a row. “We’ve talked about it as a team,” coach Steve Kerr said. “Every team we play in here is going to be excited for the opportunity to come in here and knock us off.”
Last time the two teams met was back in October. The Warriors outclassed the Pelicans in their previous encounter. The visiting team might find the same challenge in the clash ahead.
The Warriors are now just 14-games away from the Bulls’ record of 72 wins.
Top reserve Andre Iguodala will be missing at least two weeks after suffering a sprained ankle. “That’s just something we’re going to have to get adjusted to for however long he is out,” Curry said. “We’ll have to get prepared for that. But at the end of the day, we run the same offense, but it’s one less playmaker, ballhandler.
