Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber Split: Truth Revealed!

Naomi Watts Liev Schreiber Split

The Naomi Watts Liev Schreiber split is the latest on the list of Hollywood couples that shocked the entertainment industry.

Although they never married, Schrieber and Watts have been together for 11 years.  The pair started dating after they met at the Metropolitan Museum of Art costume ball in 2005. They have two sons, Alexander, 9, and 7-year-old Samuel. The two split after 11 years together.

The pair was last spotted together with their kids in New York City on September 13. Watts did not accompany Schreiber to the recent 2016 Emmys Awards. He brought his eldest son Alexander instead. The Spotlight actor shared a photo with his son, which Watts also reposted. Schreiber was nominated in Emmy’s Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for playing the role of a professional “fixer” for the rich and famous in LA in the Ray Donovan series.

People magazine cited a source on the set of Ray Donovan saying that couple’s relationship has been on the rocks for quite a while now.

In a joint statement, the couple said: “Over the past few months we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple. It is with great love, respect and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship.” They also asked the press to respect the right to privacy of their children.

Earlier this month, the X-Men Origins: Wolverine actor and Watts have been seen together attending film festivals to promote their upcoming movie The Bleeder. They look happy in both Venice Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival. In the Chuck Wepner boxing biopic, Schreiber plays boxer Wepner while Watts portrays Linda Wepner, the boxer’s second and current wife.

Watts told The Hollywood Reporter that she was given the chance to choose a role in the movie.  The actress said she chose to be the boxer’s second wife because it is something different for her.

The Bleeder is scheduled for released in spring.

Aside from The Bleeder, the pair also appeared in a number of movies together over the years. They starred in The Painted Veil in 2006 and Movie 43 in 2013.
