“Mr. Robot” season 2 is one of the most awaited thriller TV series of current time. However, there is a new update on the show. The creative team behind “Mr. Robot” season 2 has added 2 extra episodes to it. Will it push the scheduled release date of the small screen drama?

The success of season 1 drove the creators to attempt for a second season. Recently, the team has released an array of promotional materials to keep the fans elated. From the posters, it looks like the approaching season of “Mr. Robot” will have a darker theme. Creator Sam Esmail also promised that.

The posters feature series regular characters Elliot (Rami Malek), Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), Darlene (Carly Chaikin), Angela (Portia Doubleday), Joanna (Stephanie Corneliussen) and Price (Michael Cristofer).

Grace Gummer as Dominique “Dom” DiPierro are also on the promotional pieces. The 30-year-old joins the show along with newcomers Craig Robinson. Robinson will play the character of Ray, a neighborhood local who reaches out to Elliot in the time of need.

The channel also announced that the rapper Joey Badass is joining the cast of “Mr. Robot.” We will see him portraying Leon, a close friend of the protagonist.

According to USA Network, there will be two extra episodes added to season 2. Thus, the upcoming chapter will have 12 episodes instead of 10. The 12 episodes will be aired during its 10-week run, kicking off with a back-to-back premiere dubbed “eps2.0_unm4sk-pt1.tc” and “eps2.0_unm4sk-pt2.tc.”

Thankfully, the addition of these two episodes won’t delay the release date of “Mr. Robot” season 2. Everything seems to be going as per plan.

The plot will follow 30 days after the events of fsociety’s 5/9 hack on multi-national company Evil Corp. The season 2 will explore the consequences of that attack through an FBI investigation and the illusion of control. Will FBI find a shocking truth behind the attack?

Vine Report reports that a special one-hour after-show titled “Hacking Robot”  will follow the season opener. Aliyah Silverstein is the executive producer of the live program. It will reveal details about behind-the-scene events to viewers. However, there is no word by the network on the host for the new format.

The last preview released hinted some shocking truth. While the public greeted the result of the huge hack with eagerness, it may not turn out quite as expected, said The Christian times.

Season 2 of “Mr. Robot” is returning on Wednesday, July 13 at 10 p.m. ET.
