The last couple of weeks has been laced with rumours and speculations about the Motorola Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus landing soon. Add to this the mysterious event invitation sent by Motorola for an event on May 17, 2016. While the invite doesn’t give anything away, it is being widely believed that the tech company will be bringing out the fourth generation of the Moto G series.

As reported by Fonearena, the event will be held in two different countries, India and Mexico, directly signifying the importance of the day for Motorola. Furthermore, the invitation reads, “You wouldn’t want to miss this!” indicating something significant will take place as noted by TechRadar.

With tech aficionados already preparing for the Motorola Moto G4 And G4 Plus launch, there have been contradictory reports as well. There has also been a spate of rumours suggesting that the event will witness the arrival of the Moto X 2016.

At the same time, it is known that there will be a June 9, 2016 Lenovo event. Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing had shared that an event will be held in June, which will see the unveiling of an “exciting” product. So, there could be a possibility that the Moto X is introduced in June, while the May event brings us the Moto G series as is being widely predicted.

The rumoured spec sheet of the Moto G4 series reveals that the device will be equipped with a 5.5-inch screen, sport “rubberized plastic backs” and come with 16GB internal storage. As for the camera onboard, the G4 may feature a 13MP imager, while the G4 Plus will house a 16MP snapper. The fingerprint scanner may only be seen on the Moto G4 Plus variant. There is no way to ascertain whether the Moto G4 version will be boasting of a fingerprint scanner too, but recent reports suggest its unlikely.
