‘Mortal Kombat XL’ Download Now Available; Kove & Other Fatalities Revealed! [WATCH]

Take a look at the various Fatalities for the new characters and new stages in “Mortal Kombat XL.”

The most recent Mortal Kombat content will be available for Playstation 4 and Xbox One on March 1 in North America. As for those in Europe, the upgrade to Mortal Kombat X will be released three days later.

In an article posted by EventHubs, those who got a hand on the digital copy of the game can now download the update from NetherRealm Studios today. However, it is important to note that users will not be able to access some of the new content once the download is done. They will have to wait until 12:01 AM EST to unlock the added features.

Some fans were lucky enough to get a copy prior to the official release date. A Youtube user who goes by the alias BruskPoetProductions uploaded a video of both Fatalities for each of the four Kombat Pack 2 characters namely Leatherface, Alien, Triborg and Bo’ Rai Cho.

As many may have noticed, Leatherface is the main antagonist of movies based on the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” while “Alien” is the iconic creature in the space horror franchise of the same name. Triborg is a new character while Bo’ Rai Cho is a returning character from “Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance.”

Aside from additional characters and their respective gruesome fatalities, Mortal Kombat XL also features new Fatalities for Kove, Pit and Refugee Kamp stages. Thanks to IGN, players will be able to see the stage fatalities before they can experience it in-game.

In the Pit stage, the defeated champion will be made to fall into sharp spikes where he will get impaled in various parts in the body. In Kove, the loser will get dragged into the depths of the ocean by a Kraken until their bodies explode due to the water pressure. As for the Refugee Kamp, the defeated adversary will be tossed into the air as soldiers fill him with bullets.

According to AttackOfTheFanBoy, the update would be about seven to ten GB. Some players also reported that the patch could even be lower.
