Megan Fox is set to play menacing Princess Kitana in the Mortal Combat reboot. The “Transporters” bombshell appears to be super-excited in bagging the role of this daring assassin.
In an interview with Cinepop, Fox expressed some of her outrageous secret desires. Deep down, the 30-year-old is very fond of Kitana because of her Mournful variant.
Hoping against hope, the actress is looking forward to joining one of the most apparent upcoming movie remakes for “Mortal Combat.”
When channel questioned Megan Fox:
“If you could play a superhero in the movies, which one would it be?”
“I’ve been getting this question a lot and I should think it about it more because I keep drawing a blank. I don’t have a specific superhero that I think I should play. I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer for you I don’t know.”
While most of us might have expected it to be a hero, she uttered the name of a sharp-toothed baddie. In fact, her reasons were sounded pretty convincing.
“I thought of Kitana from Mortal Kombat if they ever make that movie again. I’ve always loved her fans and the blades, um, but that’s the only one I could think of.”
For quite some time now, the reboot news of “Mortal Combat” has been fuelling the rumour mill. It has also been whispered that renowned director James Wan is being added to the franchise, simply titled “Mortal Kombat.” Although he is a new entry to the popular game-inspired movie series, Wan is not unknown to the world. He has already marked his presence with flicks like “Fast And Furious 7,” “Conjuring” and “Invocation of Evil.” According to Cinema Blend, earlier, the franchise handed over info about the next “Mortal Combat.” The gen stated that it is a complete reboot, and won’t hold any similarities to the events of its predecessors. In effect, they are supposed to bid a goodbye to the mythological storyline. There is a fresh script written by David Callaham and Oren Uziel.
Since James Wan is now running on a very tight schedule due to the filming of “Acquaman,” the shooting of “Mortal Combat” remake doesn’t seem to be a possibility any time before 2018.
It can prove as a blessing in disguise for Megan Fox who is keen to grab the role of the menacing villain Kitana.
Meanwhile, the devoted fans of Megan Fox can go gaga over her as April O’Neil in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.” The movie is scheduled to hit the theatres in Australia on June 9.
