Another conflict in the lives of some fan favorite “Modern Family” characters has been revealed with season 7 just less than a month away from its premiere.
In an interview with Huffington Post, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays Mitch, shared some tidbits about the upcoming season of the hit ABC comedy show.
Ferguson revealed that his character will quit his job as a lawyer and this will affect his relationship with Cam. He said there will be some “growing pains” this year.
“Modern Family” co-creator Christopher Lloyd also told Deadline that Mitch and Cam will be in a tough financial problem this season in a way that they haven’t been in the past.
Lloyd added that fans will also see Alex going to college in season seven, and Phil and Claire will have a hard time dealing with it since they have already lost Haley.
Meanwhile, Sofia Vergara is also back on the set of “Modern Family.”
The actress plays the character of Gloria Pritchett, the Colombian wife of Joe Pritchett.
Vergara will be featured on the 2015 Fall cover of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine where she also talked about her and fiancé Joe Manganiello plans for their future wedding.
Sofia recently posted on her Instagram account some photos of her at the “Modern Family” set. One of which was with fellow cast member Eric Stonestreet and another photo with child star Jeremy Maguire, who will play her on-screen son Fulgencio or Joe Pritchett.
Deadline reported that Fulgencio’s character has been re-cast and will be played by Maguire for the upcoming season. The character had been portrayed by Pierce Wallace in the past two seasons.
The International Business Times noted that Maguire is a much older that Wallace and Joe most likely have bigger role in the seventh season.
“Modern Family” will return on Sept. 23.
