“Hunger Games” fans are definitely rejoicing as the new and final poster of “Mockingjay Part 2” of “The Hunger Games” trilogy has been released.
Jennifer Lawrence, the trilogy’s female protagonist, posted on Facebook a photo of her character Katniss Everdeen with the caption, #MockingJayPart2 Final Poster. Tickets on sale tomorrow!” Lawrence also teased the release date of the movie, which is set on November 20.
The “Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” is the last movie installment to be shown as part of the trilogy based on Suzanne Collins’ New York Times best-selling series. The movie is directed by Francis Lawrence, who was also the director of “Mockingjay Part 1.”
In Lionsgate‘s official synopsis of the “Mockingjay 2”, it notes that “Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to liberate the citizens of Panem, and stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her.”
Entertainment Weekly notes that judging from the poster, Katniss looks definitely ready for the challenge as “her brave character is pictured leaping mid-air with her signature bow and arrow in hand — in a way that reveals that she’s more than ready to lead District 13 in its assault against the Capitol.”
In less than 10 hours after the photo was posted online, Lawrence’s post got over 80,000 likes and 15,000 shares.
Meanwhile, the much-awaited final movie trailer will be released on October 2 and is set to premiere in Best Buy stores,
According to Hypable, Samsung and Lionsgate have teamed up in unveiling the movie trailer “on Samsung tablets at Best Buys around the United States beginning this Friday, October 2.”
They hope to release the official trailer online on October 5.
Thousands of fans are expected to head on to theaters this November 20 as the “Mockingjay Part 2” ends the blockbuster “Hunger Games” trilogy.
