The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is heavily rumoured to be launching as early as next month alongside the Surface Book 2. There have also been reports pointing at a July or an October launch for these Microsoft products. However, as the month comes to close more concrete details should surface to give a clear picture of when these offerings will be introduced to the world.
Recent speculations shape the Surface Pro 5 to be an offering to watch out for. Some of the top features expected on the upcoming device include a 4K display as well as a fingerprint scanner, as noted by International Business Times.
The Surface Pro 5 is said to possess the resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels while it may also have a fingerprint scanner on board. Currently, the Surface Pro 4 users could purchase the Type Cover separately which comes embedded with a fingerprint. So it will be really neat so see the scanner on the device.
Another rumoured feature that happens to be quite impressive is the rechargeable Surface Pen. One of the patents filed by Microsoft depicts a “magnetic charging dock” that will supposedly power the Surface pen as noted by Tech Radar. As reported, “Specifically, the patent details a magnetic charging dock built to give the new Surface Pen its juice, seemingly with connectors meant for a Surface Dock mounting.”
The device is also expected to come embedded with the powerful 7th generation Intel Kaby Lake processor. The latest chipset is also said to aid in enhancing the battery life of the hybrid device. If the Surface Pro 5 does arrive in June then it could well be going head to head with Apple’s MacBook 2016 lineup which is also expected to be announced during that month.
