Michael Schumacher news have been scarce these past months, with his family opting for a media blackout. However, according to insiders, the F1 racer remains immobile.
Since getting out of coma and leaving the hospital, there have been no updates on the recovery of the seven-time Formula One champion. However, a recent report by the Daily Mail UK notes that according to insiders, Schumacher “remains mute and unable to move.”
Notably, F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone’s last comments on the recovery of the racer have been very telling of Schu’s current state.
“I don’t want to see Michael like that,” Ecclestone told the Telegraph UK. “I remember Michael as he was. That is how I want to see Michael. If he comes back, that is how I want Michael to be.”
While fans and friends remain hopeful that the two-time Laureus World Sportsman of the Year will return to his champion state, his family is staying strong for each other.
Michael’s daughter, Gina, competed at the recent FEI European Reining Championships for Juniors and Young Riders 2015. Her mom was in attendance to support the 17-year-old.
The horse show and contest held at the CS Ranch in Switzerland featured 46 riders from nine different countries, Daily Mail UK noted.
Gina won both the Junior team event and the individual competition, obviously following the footsteps of her father.
“I cannot thank my team members and coach enough, my trainer Shawna Larcombe and of course my mom and family who are my greatest supporters!” the younger Schumacher said.
Michael Schumacher’s family has been seen publicly in different events since the racer’s ski accident in December 2013. After being in a coma for several months, he was moved to a rehabilitation center in Lausanne, and then transferred back to his home in Lake Geneva.
