According to the couple, their family was torn apart when MH17 was “blown out of the sky.” While making the statement, they also said that it was done by the violent rage of a nationalist missile.

However, the couple also said that the baby girl,Violet, is born with a testament to their belief that “love is stronger than hate.” The couple stated that Violet’s birth has given light to their darkness.

Violet will become part of the family. She will be pampered as much as the three children the family lost. They also said that Violet will be loved just the way they loved the three children and their grandfather who are no longer with them.

“As Martin Luther King said: ‘darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that,” the couple said.
