Met Gala 2016 witnessed some exceptions in the fashion arena. While the event garnered so many memorable moments on the red carpet this year, there were a few bad dressers as well. Met Gala 2016 followed a theme called “Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age of Technology.”
Here are our top five worst dressers in reference to Coco Perez:
# 1 Madonna
The event had a bizarre moment with Madonna’s assets on display. The daring fashion queen Madge took the sheer dressing trend to the next level by appearing in a black lace Givenchy gown by Riccardo Tisci. But wait! She ditched her undergarments completely. The “Rebel Heart” singer accessorized the outfit with rings by Lynn Ban, a cross body chain and a necklace by Neil Lane. While most celebs stunned in sequins and floor length gowns, Madonna chose the revealing sheer lace look. Why? We wonder.
#2 Lady gaga
Lady Gaga wore a bizarre silver corset-style leotard to the 2016 bash, exhibiting her bum in the revealing one-piece. There was too much of skin showing, as the “Poker Face” singer added fishnet tights to the ensemble. Making things extravagant, she teamed up her paint-less look with million inch platforms, flaunting every inch of her legs and more.
# 3 Katy Perry
The “Prism” vocalist made it to the Met in a dramatic heavy velvet and gold trimmed Prada gown. The crackpot combination of necklace of keys, finger-less leather gloves, bleached brows, and severe wig, has landed the pop star on the Met Gala’s worst dressed list.
#4 Taylor Swift
The barbie-doll beauty Taylor Swift is unpredictable when it comes to fashion department. Swift was the co-chair of this event but she marked it as one of her greatest fashion blunders. The “1989” artist arrived at Met looking unimposing in a Louis Vuitton bizarre snakeskin design dress.
#5 Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Kim Kardashian’s silver Balmain looks really familiar. Did she wear it earlier? Although she managed to channelize a futuristic look with lightened eyebrows, her outfit was the culprit that spoiled the game. Kanye West’s nubuck boots and ripped Jeans, which popped with a crystal-coated Balmain jacket, were the real offenders.
Every year, celebrities, fashion designers, politicians, and A-Listers attend the event on the first Monday in May in their Sunday best as a part of the exclusive bowl. Only 650 people are invited to Met Gala and paid about $25,000 per ticket.
