Frank Hoogerbeets, a seismic psychic based in the Netherlands, claims to have predicted the earthquake that occurred in Myanmar, Philippines, Vanuatu in South Pacific Ocean, including the devastating one that hit Japan in the last 48 hours. Apparently, the planetary alignment caused the earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 that killed at least nine people late Thursday in Japan.
“On April 4 and 12, I issued a warning that seismic activity would increase starting on April 13 when the moon would start facing the Mars-Saturn line,” says Hoogerbeets. “This is exactly what is happening. Also, yesterday I issued a warning for the Philippine Sea plate, including Japan. Today I issued another warning, just before the 6 magnitude earthquakes hit.””
Hoogerbeets warns that a massive tremor may soon happen. Accordingly, this one could be worse than the earthquakes that happened in the areas aforementioned.
“With the Venus-Sun-Jupiter alignment this morning and the Mercury-Venus-Neptune alignment coming up in a few hours, a seven magnitude earthquake is a possibility today or tomorrow,” adds Hoogerbeets. “Have a quake plan ready. No fear. Know what to do, just in case.”
However, other scientists do not take the psychic seriously, criticising Hoogerbeets after the claim of a powerful earthquake that was supposed to happen back in December 2015 never happened. Hoogerbeets also faced ridicule after insisting that another powerful earthquake was about to strike California in May 2015 but, like the other prediction, this too failed to materialise.
Nevertheless, Hoogerbeets’ new forecast of a bigger earthquake echoes other experts’ suggestions. Scientists fear that a mega earthquake known as The Big One, may soon occur after these four major earthquakes.
“The current conditions might trigger at least four earthquakes greater than 8.0 in magnitude,” says University of Colorado’s seismologist Roger Bilham. “And if they delay, the strain accumulated during the centuries provokes more catastrophic mega earthquakes.”
The director general of the Ahmedabad-based Institute of Seismological Research, BK Rastogi, adds, “An earthquake of the same magnitude is overdue. That may happen either today or 50 years from now in the region of the Kashmir, Himachal, Punjab and Uttrakhand Himalayas … the accumulation of stress is going on everywhere. But where it will reach the elastic limit, we don’t know nor also when. But what we do know is that it is happening everywhere.”
