Nigella Lawson, the raven-haired chef, has already flown to Melbourne for the filming of “MasterChef Australia” and will join Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris on the show.
“I can’t think of a better way of starting the new year,” she told News.com.au.
“MasterChef Australia is such a great program, and so passionately committed to good food, that I didn’t have to think twice when I was invited to be part of this season,” she added.
Nigella Lawson has been in the news for some time following the very public meltdown of her marriage to Charles Saatchi; her stint on the US TV Series, “The Taste”; as well as the recent criticisms of recipes on the latest food series, “Simply Nigella.”
The show will be aired later this year. However, this is not the first time Nigella is being a part of “MasterChef Australia”. She had previously appeared in one episode of the 2011 season of this immensely popular show and didn’t have to think twice when she was offered to be a part of the show again.
For “MasterChef Australia,” getting Nigella on board for the season is like hitting a jackpot. This is because along with this one, other celebrity chefs, including Marco Pierre White and Heston Blumenthaal, will return to make an appearance this season as well.
The show already has 24 amazing contestants, who will be fight for the ultimate trophy. These amateur cooks will serve Nigella some out-of-this world, innovative and mouthwatering dishes in a race to win the game.
“I look forward to eating their food and cooking them mine,” she said of what lies ahead for her over the next seven days.
Nigella’s high profile presence on the show is expected to further boost the ratings this year. “We’re very excited to have her,” said Network Ten’s Chief Programming Officer Beverley McGarvey.
