Four more home cooks are left as MasterChef Australia 2016 enters the semi-finals week.

Elena Dugan, Matt Sinclair, Elise Franciskovic and Harry Foster will face the toughest challenges in the kitchen in the upcoming episodes of the cooking competition.  Many are rooting for Matt and Elena in the finale of Season 8.

Dugan secured an instant spot in the finals after she wowed the judges with her sorbet with lavender.

The 32-year-old teacher took the risk and followed her instinct when she added lavender in her sorbet despite warnings from the judges.

Matt Preston even commented that it’s as good as any other dish he has eaten in California.

Matt Sinclair, on the other hand, has been rumored to be the winner of MasterChef Australia 2016. Based on the photos he shared on his Instagram account, it seems that Sinclair has also taken the trophy and cash prize of the competition.

Sinclair was the only contestant of Season 8 who was present in a party attended by MasterChef alums and celebrity judges recently. He also posted on his Instagram account two photos at the recent Regional Flavours Launch in Brisbane.

In one image, Matt was seen with former MasterChef contestant and last year’s runner-up Georgia Barnes. In another photo, Sinclair was photographed standing alongside celebrity chef Miguel Maestre behind a demonstration kitchen bench. His IG followers commented that he must have won the competition already.

Who do you think will make it to the finale?

Meanwhile, Mimi Baines was the last hopeful who bid goodbye to the MasterChef Australia Season 8 kitchen after she made a crucial mistake in the last episode.

Judges George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston will be joined by guest mentor Shannon Bennett in the season finale along with the rest of the other contestants who were previously sent home.

MasterChef Australia 2016 airs every Sunday to Thursday at 7:30 pm on Ten.
