Manchester Utd Devoted to Sign Edinson Cavani for £30million or More; Desperate to Save Season

Edinson Cavani

There could be something for the Manchester United fan’s to cheer about now. After a dismal season and a host of losses, Manager Louis Van Gaal is ready to take every measure there is to save his side from the EPL slump.

According to the Metro UK reports, Manchester United are all set to make a formal approach to bring Edinson Cavani from Paris to Manchester. Reports claim that Manchester Utd team has always admired the 28-year-old Edinson Cavani and are devoted to sign him for £30million or even more.

Though United were hopeful that they would be able to rope in the South American talent, but “Paris Saint Germain maintained he would stay at the club,” quotes Metro UK.

Cavani’s representatives are in constant talks with Manchester United as a possible move to Old Trafford is possibly on the cards.

As we all know, the United have been struggling this whole season.  And the former Napoli star might just inject some fresh enthusiasm to the team.

According to ESPN FC reports, “United have a long-standing interest in Cavani, with former manager David Moyes having considered a move in 2013 after watching the striker a number of times.”

“The 28-year-old has a healthy strike rate since moving to Paris Saint-Germain from Napoli in 2013, having hit 69 goals in 120 games.”

The report also suggests that Cavani often made changes to his position and moved wider to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The changes did affect his game as he became rather inconsistent with his form. He also missed some of the big opportunities and failed to make it in the big games.

That won’t be the case at the Old Trafford. The source quotes, “United are primarily interested in the extra dimension he can give the attack through his pace.”

It would be interesting to see how things play out for him. Manchester United are desperate to make changes as they look forward to revive their potential chances this season.
