Sixth placed Manchester United will take on the fifteenth placed Chelsea at the Old Trafford in their English Premier League campaign on Monday, Dec. 28, starting 5:30 PM GMT.
On one hand, nothing is going right for Manchester United at this moment but Chelsea, on the other hand, seems to have found some stability after their coaching staff was revamped. Guus Hiddink managed Chelsea for the first time against Watford after Jose Mourinho was ousted last week.
Manchester United suffered a terrible 2-0 defeat against Stoke City last Saturday, which might escalate proceedings of a possible expulsion for Louis Van Gaal.
Standard UK quoted United manager Van Gaal as saying, “We have lost the game in the first 45 minutes because we didn’t dare to play our football. That is what I have analyzed. The circumstances now play a bigger role and will in the next game also. We have to cope with that and look for the solution.”
As per the BBC reports, Wayne Rooney might comeback into the playing XI. Even Midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger will return from suspension.
Chelsea’s Diego Costa will miss the match against the Reds “for accumulating five bookings this season.” Eden Hazard could be back for Chelsea on Monday.
The Reds will definitely bank on their home advantage to defeat the blues in their own backyard. One more loss could seal the sacking of Van Gaal.
