As Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United career starts, speculations are forming regarding players who will form his new team. Manchester United is committed to providing Mourinho the best players they can get. Midfielder William Carvalho has been a favorite pick for the bid.

Addressing their weak midfield game, Red Devils scouts have been sent to check on William Carvalho and fellow Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Mario.

Bleacher Report says the 24-year-old is an old favorite. The Red Devils club has dangled a £27 million (around AU$54 million) bid to attract the young player to switch from Sporting Lisbon.

The Portuguese players are closely watched by Manchester United. Metro reports he is also on Arsenal’s watchlist.

Carvalho is following the footsteps of Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo. William Carvalho may be the midfielder Manchester United needs.

Standing at 6’2″, The Mirror cites his perfect positioning, prowess, speed and composure as his greatest strengths on the field. The 24-year-old midfielder assumes the perfect position. He uses his good sense of perception to see where the ball is going.

He is also lightning quick on his feet. He can smoothly edge out the opponent and take full control of the ball cleanly.

William Carvalho has also represented Portugal in the World Cup. He flourished in the game playing beside Ronaldo. He paved the way for Ronaldo to make points in the international cup with a 90% passing accuracy.

However, like any other player, Carvalho also suffers from weaknesses. Spectators always see him make sideway passes. Carvalho rarely makes for the vertical passing. He also has a knack for collecting yellow cards. This may cause trouble for Manchester United.

With the Portuguese recently signing a new contract with his club this February, Manchester United may need to shell out more money to buy out the strong midfielder of Sporting Lisbon.
