Manchester United fans have been sitting on the edge of their seats in the past several weeks, as speculations continue to swirl around the possible return of Paul Pogba. However, the anticipation could reportedly end today, if rumors are true that an official announcement has been set for Wednesday, Aug. 3.
The Frenchman’s transfer back to Old Trafford from Juventus, is one of the most anticipated deals of the summer. Spain’s Diario AS reports that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is hoping to get the transfer completed and officially announced today, despite fears that the sought-after player is still entertaining Real Madrid. According to Give Me Sport, fears of renewed talks with the Spanish giants were revived, after Pogba boarded a plane to New York on Tuesday.
The Real Madrid squad and their manager Zinedine Zidane are currently in the Big Apple. The team is in the middle of their pre-season tour of North America. There is no evidence to prove that Paul Pogba has been in touch with anyone in Real Madrid while he is in the United States, but speculations have gone into overdrive.
If the Manchester United deal is completed, Paul Pogba is expected to earn 20 million Euros per year. He has reportedly been offered to sign a five-year contract with a total record breaking value upwards of 110 million Euros. Pogba’s current club Juventus has set a very high price on the Frenchman’s head. Despite being linked to European Champions Real Madrid, it appears that Manchester United are the ones that are willing to shell out the cash.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been coy about his fate. He has been teasing fans and members of the media who have been asking about the impending transfer. However, multiple media sources, including the Telegraph, are under the impression that the transfer is only hours away from being announced.
