Its not often that your manager asks you to be “Horny”. But when he does, what options do you have? Well, such is the current state of Manchester United.

United manager Louis van Gaal’s career hit a new low when United lost 2-1 to minnows FC Midtjylland last week. They already have a one-goal deficit to pay heed to as Man Utd will play to avoid a “humiliating” exit from the Europa League at the hands of Midtjylland.

Manchester United will host FC Midtjylland in the 2nd leg of the UEFA Europa League last 32 round at the Old Trafford stadium on Thursday, Feb. 25, starting 8 PM GMT.

As per the ESPN FC reports, the Dutchman admitted that players are getting affected by the criticism directed towards him. He responded back by saying that the United have a “match of their lives” ahead and they should be able to produce a “Horny” performance at Old Trafford.

“A lot of times I use the word ‘horny’ to my players,” Van Gaal said.

“They showed fight against Shrewsbury but every game is different and every game players and managers want to fight for the victory. But we are human beings also. You are not always in the same shape and form.

“I think maybe criticism of me can be an influence because there is a lot, but they have to use their tools to ignore it because that’s very important. Not only the criticism of their manager, but also of themselves.”

As per the Screamer, Midtjylland boss Jess Thorup stated that the “United coach’s words are amusing.”

“I just heard that in the car outside of the stadium,” Thorup said, smiling. “We were laughing a bit about the word horny.

“I don’t [know] what to say and, if [you] translate the word horny, I don’t know what he means related to the game.”

Well, we are all eager to see how “Horny” the United perform on Thursday. Be ready, Midtjylland.
