Pep Guardiola becomes the new boss of Manchester City succeeding Manuel Pellegrini. The 45-year-old legendary Spanish coach will now be tasting new waters in England after his successful stint in both Spain and Germany.

“Pep Guardiola will be the guy who can attract any player in the world that wants to be coached by him”, Thierry Henry commented after the Bayern Munich Coach was pitched for the EPL job. Who wouldn’t want Pep Guardiola by their side? According to the BBC reports, Guardiola has only lost 19 of his 239 league games as a manager.

There were long speculations about him joining either Manchester United or Chelsea since both clubs are going through a rough patch. We saw the exceptional growth of Barcelona under Guardiola and now Guardiola will take proceedings for Man City replacing the Chilean Pellegrini.

The Club said that Pellegrini was “fully supportive” of the announcement. Pellegrini will leave Man City on June 30. Man City are in terrific form this season under Pellegrini and are only behind Leicester City in the league standings. They have already qualified for the knock out stages of the Chamoions league and will also play Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

“I talked to the club and I will finish my contract on the original date,” said Pellegrini on Monday.

“We signed a contract for one more year, but with a clause that one of the club or me cannot use that extended contract. So I will finish here on the original date.

“They are not doing anything behind me. I knew this a month ago. But I don’t think it’s good, this rumour and speculation about different things. I would prefer to finish the speculation today. That’s why I told the press, I told the players, and I spoke with the club two weeks ago saying that I would do it.”

There were rumours making the rounds that Pellegrini might not be happy with the Club’s decision but his statement will finally put all rumours to rest.
