Maddie Ziegler, the 13-year-old wunderkind best known for her performance in Sia’s “Chandelier” music video will serve as a judge on “So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation,” Fox announced on Thursday.
Dance Mom Star will be joining the league of Paula Abdul, Jason Derulo and Nigel Lythgoe on the judging panel for the new season, which will feature child dancers between the ages of 8-13.
Maddie has earlier performed on “Saturday Night Live,” the 2015 Grammy Awards, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Dancing with the Stars” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Child star Ziegler also is as an aspiring actress with roles on TV shows “Pretty Little Liars,” “Austin & Ally” and “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn.”
She will be making her feature debut in a leading role in “The Book of Henry” alongside Jacob Tremblay, Sarah Silverman, Naomi Watts, Lee Pace, Bobby Moynihan, Dean Norris, and St. Vincent’s Jaeden Lieberher. Her big screen debut will be directed by Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow.
Ziegler was named by Time magazine as one of the “30 most influential teens of 2015.” She gained wide notice, at the age of 11, by starring in the 2014 video for Sia’s song “Chandelier,” which won the ARIA Music Award for Best Video and received nominations at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards for Video of the Year and Best Choreography, winning the latter. It was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Music Video in 2015.
The video has received more than 1.1 billion views on YouTube and as of January 2016, it was the 13th most viewed YouTube video of all time.[
