According to a report on Latinos Post, Apple may just be launching the much-awaited MacBook Air today, during one of the biggest shopping day of the year – Black Friday.
There are many reasons why this is highly unlikely and more so if Apple decides to keep up with tradition. In the past the MacBook Air launches have been done in April 2014 and March 2015. So actually most fans are most likely expecting a Spring 2016 release for the MacBook Pro 2016.
Some reports also suggest that the MacBook Air 2016 will be launched during Christmas this year, in case it doesn’t surface today. The prediction of a Christmas release was arrived at when Pike’s Universum came across a new Mac code – AAPLJ951 – in El Capitan. This indicated the the MacBook 2016 lineup will be launching quite soon, which would mean this year.
The post stated, “The data is identical to that of the late 2015 (iMac17 1 in the same file) so it may as well be a remnant of the new iMac, but the strange thing is that the XHCI data for the late 2015 iMac is also there, which is why I believe that this is not/was not added for the/a new iMac but another Mac.”
The finding sparked off the rumors of the laptops landing sometime in December. The MacBook Air 2016 may arrive powered by Intel’s Skylake-U chipset in a sleeker form factor, when compared to its predecessors. It may be seen running on the latest OS X El Capitan and boast of Force Touch technology.
Apple fans can definitely keep their fingers crossed, even though at this point a Black Friday launch seems unlikely, the fandom can always hope that the MacBook makes an appearance on the tech-scene during the December holidays.
