Luke Cage Season 2: Mike Colter Talks Avengers 3 Appearance

Luke Cage season 2

By now, Luke Cage fans must have completed the hero’s own first season, or at least are working their way to its last episodes. Whatever the status, the next logical thought for these fans is to think of a Luke Cage season 2. At this point, there’s not much news on that front. However, the Netflix show’s star talked about another crucial piece to the Marvel universe.

The crucial piece is none other than the Avengers 3 film. Dubbed as Avengers: Infinity War, it gained buzz early given the promise that it will feature quite a number of superheroes. To be specific, the Russo brothers even gave 67 as the count. This large number prompted hope for many that Marvel characters from TV and Netflix will also appear in the film.

To add fuel to the fire, Robert Downey Jr made buzz last month after sharing what looks like a poster for Infinity War. In the photo, names of the cast from Agents of SHIELD as well as the Defenders on Netflix made it to the poster.

However, news sources later revealed that the actor simply shared a fan-made poster. Despite the clarification, fans are still hoping that the crossover happens.

Colter himself have something to say with this matter amid the massive expectations.

Screen Rant reports that the actor appeared on Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM. The site quotes him as saying:

“What we do is really unique… We’re adult kind of oriented… not PG-13. We’re not really for the mass audiences, crowd pleasing, family oriented. That being said, you know Marvel… They schedule movies years in advance, we’re shooting TV series year round. It’s very tough to just kind of make things just work the way you want to because it’s just so much going on.”

Colter adds to the list of actors debunking the hopes of many. With this, the best thing is for fans not to keep their hopes up.

Luke Cage season 2

Although it’s almost certain that Luke Cage won’t make it to the big screen any time soon, there’s hope for more of the character. Colter will reprise the role when the Defenders join forces in 2017.

In addition, there’s always the possibility of a second season. According to Inverse, the inclusion of Misty Knight opens a huge possibility for future outings of Luke Cage.
