Liverpool is all set to host Leicester in the Boxing Day Match on Saturday, Dec. 26, at the Anfield Stadium in England starting at 3 PM Local Time.
Leicester is leading the Premier League this season and will hope to continue their terrific form in the Barclays match against Liverpool. The Anfield side will look to capitalize on home advantage and gain the upper hand on Leicester early on.
As per the Telegraph reports, “Liverpool have a few issues at the back with Martin Skrtel having joined Dejan Lovren on the sidelines, the Slovakian ruled out for six weeks with a hamstring strain.”
The report further reads that Adam Bogdan’s catastrophic performance at Watford last week could force Jurgen Klopp to make hasty decisions regarding his defense.
League’s top scorer Jamie Vardy is likely to return against Liverpool. He has been in exceptional form this season and looks right on money.
The week looks busy for both teams as Leicester will play against Manchester City on Tuesday before their home game against Bournemouth on Jan. 2. Liverpool also head to Sunderland and then West Ham in the coming week.
According to ESPN FC, “After some good early results, ‘The Klopp Effect’ has worn off and fans are seeing how many gaps and weaknesses there are in this squad.” Though history is against Leicester as the team haven’t won a match at Anfield since 2000, but you never know in football.
The rise of Leicester has been one of the remarkable stories of all time. They are not considered underdog anymore. They are two points clear sitting on top of the table.
The transfer window is opening up next week. So Jurgen Klopp will closely observe the side.
As of now, sit back and enjoy the epic Boxing Day match.
