The Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth and Wrecking Ball singer Miley Cyrus have kissed and made up after they broke up their engagement four years ago.
In a new interview for GQ Australia, as shared by Daily Telegraph, Liam Hemsworth weighed in on the breakup with Miley Cyrus, as he also hinted that they have gotten back together.
“Of course it was hard, man,” he said. “But at the time we were going in different directions and it’s just what needed to happen.”
At that time, he said, they were both very young so they had to grow up first.
In 2013, Miley Cyrus gave an interview with Barbara Walters where she said that the breakup with Liam Hemsworth happened because she couldn’t be herself whenever she’s around her then fiancé. The singer hinted that she might have stayed in the relationship for the wrong reasons, and that was because she was afraid of being alone.
There was also the fact that getting engaged at 19 was too young.
“I don’t ever want to have to need someone again, where you feel like, without them, you can’t be yourself,” she said per Celebuzz.
Miley Cyrus then went on to shock the world when she shed off her wholesome persona and went on to grind against Robin Thicke during the MTV Music Awards. Then she shed off her clothes, smoked weed, stuck out her tongue and other behaviors that were meant to shock.
Her actions prompted the tabloids to speculate that Miley Cyrus unraveled after the breakup from Liam Hemsworth.
However, according to HollywoodLife, rumours of the former couple reuniting started in January of this year after they were spotted in Australia where the Wrecking Ball singer apparently joined his family on a holiday.
Liam Hemsworth also hinted that the breakup is no more as he reunited with Miley Cyrus.
“I guess when I feel something, then I just feel it and I go for it,” he said.
