Looks like its going to be the war of smartphones with tech giants gearing up to bring out the best at the Mobile World Congress this year.
There have been plenty of rumours and speculations doing the rounds about a number of flagships out there including the LG G5 and the Samsung Galaxy S7. Moreover, the two handsets are even launching on the very same day. LG revamping its design with the G5 and Galaxy S7 predicted to arrive with some neat upgrades, it’s but natural that the two are being pitted against each other. If the speculations are to be believed then the LG G5 won’t fail to make an impression. And now, with the handset being benchmarked, more details about its performance strengthen the ongoing rumours.
Listing on Geekbench reveals that the G5 is packing in a Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB RAM. The handset will also arrive running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (layered with LG’s UI.) The benchmark also reveals performance scores and the sheets looking pretty good for the LG G5. When it comes to the multi-core score, the G5 achieves 5061 and that beats Galaxy S7’s score of 4989, as noted by Tech Radar. However, LG G5’s single-core score reads out to be 2248, which happens to be a tad bit lower than Samsung Galaxy S7 single-core score of 2282.
There is no denying that the benchmarks may not show the accurate picture of real world performance, but it gives fans a glimpse into a jump that LG has made with its G5 smartphone. The company has also recently shared that the handset will feature an Always On Display Mode; and unveiled images of the Quick Cover case for the handset.
