The first season of “Legends of Tomorrow” just ended last month. But fans are already speculating about the show’s next installment. The CW hit already featured quite a number of DC’s most iconic superheroes. But will the show’s second season bring in more faces into the fray?
In an interview with Deadline.com, series co-creator Marc Guggenheim said fans should not expect to see the exact same Legends they saw in the show’s first season. “The composition of the team is going to change,” he explained. “There will be some new faces on the Waverider.”
Which comic book legends will join in soon? According to Collider, the Legends might just be able to recruit Citizen Steel for Season 2. Actor Nick Zano is set to join the cast as Dr. Nate Heywood, the grandson of Hank Heywood. Longtime DC fans know Hank better as Commander Steel. In the comic books, Nate eventually took over for his grandfather as Citizen Steel. However, it has yet to be confirmed if Nate’s superhuman counterpart will make an appearance on the show’s upcoming season.
Meanwhile, showrunner Phil Klemmer earlier told IGN that they will be coming into Season 2 “from a completely different angle.” Just how different will the show’s next installment be? Guggenheim hinted that they planted clues all over the first season. “The season finale planted some very significant flags in terms of what the new concept of the show will be in Season 2,” he told Deadline.com. “The team’s mission statement for Season 2 is more compelling than Season 1, and at the same time, it is more streamlined. It’s a little bit higher concept, a very clean notion that will allow the show to do things that it does best.”
You can check out Season 2 of “Legends of Tomorrow” when the series returns this fall on the CW.
