What are the advantages of a time-travel show you ask? DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow,” will visit DC Comics antihero Jonah Hex in the Old West, much to the delight of fans.
As noted by Entertainment Weekly, Executive producer Marc Guggenheim shared, “Ever since we decided that Legends would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West.” He added, “But if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply must include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television.”
Jonah Hex, a Civil War veteran, now a bounty hunter living by a strong moral code, is said to be the deadliest man alive. His horribly scarred face is often associated with the demon. As shared by Variety, the character first appeared on-screen in a live-action movie by Josh Brolin in 2010.
Writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga created the character in the ’70s, which also went on to be featured in an animated short film, “DC Showcase: Jonah Hex.” In this short movie, the character was voiced by Thomas Jane, while the movie was directed by Joaquim Dos Santos and written by Joe R. Lansdale.
The casting for the role of Jonah Hex in the upcoming series has not been revealed yet but it is known that the character will be landing in episode 11 of the series. Reports also suggests that fans may probably get to see Hex from time to time in “Legends of Tomorrow.” Details will become more clear as the character lands in this superhero time-travelling spin-off.
“Legends of Tomorrow” cast includes Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Caity Lotz, Arthur Darvill, Ciara Renée, Franz Drameh, Dominic Purcell and Falk Hentschel.
