The video basically gives a tour of the game’s environment and features some battle scenes. The minute-long trailer does not give away much aside from that.

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild trailer and potential hidden clues

However, in examining the trailer, Kotaku relays the emergence of some theories. In the article, the source recalls Zelda boss Eiji Aonuma’s previous statement saying that players play as a man in Breath of the Wild. Still, despite this statement, fans’ curiosity raised the possibility of playing as a female.

As to why fans considered looking in this direction, Kotaku notes:

“…they showed this sleek trailer, which teases some sort of female character. Lots of people are theorizing that this is a teaser for playable Zelda. Maybe it’s not. Who knows? Nobody! What we do know is that there’s a female character who’s dressed a LOT like Link…”

Meanwhile, aside from this initial trailer, Gematsu reports that another video of the game emerged. This time, it’s a bit longer at four minutes. It shows a ‘Let’s Play’ treatment from Bill Trinen and Nate Bihldorff from the Nintendo Treehouse.
