Is Lee Min-Ho about to enlist in the military? The 28-year-old South Korean actor shared his thoughts about the mandatory military enlistment in an interview.
Speaking to a Chinese news outlet, Lee Min-Ho revealed that he was inspired to think about his enlistment after a fan promised to shave her hair as a sign that she would wait for him while Lee Min-Ho was serving his duty in the military.
“I was really touched by her meaningful actions,” Lee said, as quoted by The Korea Herald. “But unfortunately, there are no specific details or plans regarding my enlistment yet. Her hair might have grown back by then.”
The mandatory military service applies to all qualified and abled South Korean men aged 18 to 35. A lot of other celebrities have completed their conscription, with the more recent being Descendants of the Sun actor Song Joong-Ki. Song entered in Aug. 2013 and was discharged in May 2015. He served as an active duty soldier.
With that said, Lee Min-Ho still has a lot of time in his hands before it becomes too late for him to serve.
According to Inquirer, Lee, who gained massive global popularity through drama series Boys Over Flowers and The Heirs, will make his next big screen appearance in the Chinese movie Bounty Hunters.
Meanwhile, Lee Min-Ho is rumoured to take part in a drama series together with actress Jun Ji-Hyun. The said drama will be written by Park Ji-Eun, who is credited for the critically-acclaimed South Korean drama My Love From the Star. The 2013 show catapulted its lead stars Jun Ji-Hyun and Kim Soo-Hyun to global stardom.
Prior to Descendants of the Sun, My Love From The Star was the highest-rated South Korean drama series in history and also the most expensive one sold to broadcasters overseas.
