Malaga will host Getafe in their La Liga campaign at the Estadio La Rosaleda in Malaga on Friday, February 5, as both teams look forward to making into the top ten of the La Liga standings.
As per the Tonyruik sports blog, Malaga head into the game with mixed form. They looked in form since December after having registered victory over Atletico Madrid. They were good against Celta Vigo too. Malaga lost to Sevilla and Barcelona but not without posing a challenge.
Manager Javi Garcia stuck to his defense style since the start of his season and Malaga have conceded just 20-goals which is the fourth best in the league.
Javi Gracia was quoted as saying, “We face a team whose main danger comes from the midfielders and strikers, with quick transitions and quality players. We must be very attentive to this rapid gameplay on their attack, and we need to continue along the same lines we’ve been doing.”
“We are being very consistent and more effective in our attacking display, and we’re now experiencing a better time than we were several weeks ago.”
Malaga have lost just one out their nine home matches against Getafe. The visiting need a pretty strong comeback on Friday as back to back defeats have affected their team moral. They have already slipped down to the 11th spot in the league standings and must contain further slump in the table.
Getafe’s lead strikers Alvaro Vazquez and Stefan Scepovic have not been able to strike form lately which is a matter of concern for the Gracia, notes All Sports News.
As per Malaga, Gonzalo Castro, Juan Carlos, Raúl Albentosa and Weligton are uncertain for the upcoming clash.
