Twilight star Kristen Stewart opens up in an interview about nudity and sex scenes in her upcoming film, the metaphysical thriller Personal Shopper. The actress said she is not ashamed about getting naked onscreen. The film is set to hit theaters next year.
Stewart is always expressive in her opinions on interviews. As per her, to appear nude in movies is actually okay and she calls people ‘weird’ for making nudity and sex scenes such a big deal.
In an interview with W Magazine, the 27-year-old actress speaks about her French indie film and of her nude scenes. She shared how she was just doing her work, especially when taking off her clothes in front of the camera.
“I wasn’t apprehensive. I feel super great with director Olivier Assayas as well. The scenes in which I don’t have clothes on or the scenes that seem ‘risqué’ from an outsider’s perspective, there was no acknowledgment on his part,” Stewart told the magazine.
Stewart also said that when it comes to doing such scenes, you must take yourself out if it. She wants women’s bodies and the way the film wants to reveal them. For her, it’s a precious thing that she is really open about.
In a report by International Business Times, Stewart’s take on nudity is an important aspect in the development of her character. It’s her way of putting herself on constant basis in her career, and the film Personal Shopper is the perfect way for her to do that.
Stewart says that she wants to “push” herself on “a constant basis” in her career. Being nude in Personal Shopper was a new way for her to do that. She also explained that her nude scenes are a part of her character’s journey and development.
Personal Shopper will hit theaters on March 2017.
