Emily Ratajkowski comes to Kim Kardashian’s defense as she shared that Kanye West’s wife’s naked selfie is all about feminism. The model, who is best known for her appearance in Blurred Lines, also shared her mom taught her to go beyond her looks.
Last March, the reality star drew flack from Piers Morgan for the nude selfies she posted on her social media account. The model immediately reacted to the comment as she tweeted the statement was a “sexist b*llsh*t.”
Around the same time, the mother−of−two inspired a slew of women to share their take on the naked selfie, according to an article from GQ. Kylie Jenner, Sharon Osborne, among many others hopped on board. Kanye West’s wife also did a nude selfie with Emily Ratajkowski which showed them raising their middle fingers.
In a recent interview published on Standard, the 24−year−old model explained her thoughts on the criticism Kim Kardashian got for her naked selfie.
“[He was] talking about the fact Kim is 34 and a mother and that we’re over seeing her in a sexual light, which I had a lot of problems with. He also implied that her husband [Kanye West] was writing her tweets, as if she isn’t capable of writing them herself, which to me is incredibly sexist,” she said.
“There are lots of [criticisms] I can understand one might have about the Kardashians and reality TV, but even someone who you might be critical of is allowed to post a naked selfie if she wants to.”
The model shared that the reality star then sent her flowers after her tweet. They also did that famous selfie.
“Then we decided to do a selfie with our tops off, flipping off [sticking up her middle finger at] the camera, which I think speaks for itself,” she explained about the naked selfie she did with Kim Kardashian.
Meanwhile, she shared that growing up, her mom instilled the importance of “being recognised for more than her looks.” The model said her mother is not into the idea that her pretty face is the only thing going for her.
