Kim Kardashian will sue MediaTakeOut.com for writing that she lied about her robbery. The incident happened last week while she was in Paris.
The mom of two experienced trauma after the robbers entered their luxury hotel room, tied her up, gagged her and stole more than $10 million worth of jewelry, including a $4 million 20-carat diamond ring that West gave her.
However, the celebrity website claimed that she was just faking the scary event. More than that, rumor has it that the webloid did not offer an apology after the report, which they deleted afterward.
According to USA Today, Kardashian filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in Manhattan federal court, seeking unspecified damages from MediaTakeOut.com. The lawsuit said the “malicious publication of the articles, which paint the victim of a serious crime as a criminal herself, is libelous.”
The outlet contacted the website’s owner, Fred Mwangaguhunga, but to no avail. Furthermore, her sisters said that she is still trying to overcome the trauma, aside from “rethinking her social media habits.”
Furthermore, her sister Khloe broke her silence and spoke to Ellen DeGeneres about the incident.
“It’s incredibly traumatic what happened to her, but our family is super close and great and we’ll get through it together,” quoted via CNN. “We do appreciate all of you guys’ love and support. It will take time. It was horrible, what happened to her.”
Kim Kardashian was in France for the Fashion Week. Meanwhile, West prematurely ended his New York concert stating that it was due to a family emergency.
She has not posted anything on Instagram since the robbery. On the other hand, Kylie Jenner and sister Kendall canceled an appearance for a book promotion due to security reasons, noted Mail Online.
